Gaps in emergency warnings for deaf people in Cyprus
Cyprus Ombudsman Maria Stylianou-Lottidi has identified deficiencies in notifying deaf and hard of hearing persons in emergency situations in a report. She calls on the state to ensure equal and effective information access in emergency warning systems for this population group. The ombudsman's report is based on a complaint by the Pan-Cypriot Organization of the Deaf against civil protection.
