Germany Expands Intelligence Service BND Powers Under Pressure from Putin's Threat
Faced with intensified hybrid attacks and the threat posed by Russia under Vladimir Putin, Chancellor Friedrich Mertz's government approved reforms to the German foreign intelligence service BND (Bundesnachrichtendienst). The German cabinet approved this measure to strengthen the services. The reforms are a response to growing security policy challenges in Europe.
