Government Criticizes Parliamentary Decision to Abolish Social Agency
Parliament has decided to abolish the Social Support Authority, which provided financial assistance to students in need. The functions and assets will be transferred to the State Foundation for Scholarships. Government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis described this decision as 'regrettable' after Parliament rejected two alternative government proposals.
