Government Denies Shifting Reform Costs to Citizens
The Cypriot Interior Ministry has rejected accusations by municipal associations that the government is shifting the costs of municipal territorial reform onto residents. Instead, the government emphasizes that it has more than doubled state funding for municipalities since the reform was introduced. However, the association rejects the proposed mechanism for adjusting annual state subsidies.
