Greece designates Gyaros as marine protected area
Greece has officially declared the uninhabited and biologically diverse island of Gyaros in the Cyclades a marine protected area (MPA) by presidential decree. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Greece described the signing of the decree, which took place last week, as an important milestone for nature conservation.
