Greece Leads European Movement Against Bottom Trawling
According to a study published in National Geographic, Greece is setting standards across Europe in banning bottom trawling. This fishing method, in which heavy weighted nets are dragged across the seabed, is extremely efficient for fishing but causes significant environmental damage and is subject to intense environmental policy debates.
