Greece: Over 25% of Population Threatened by Poverty
According to Eurostat data, in 2025 more than a quarter of the Greek population lived in poverty or was threatened by social exclusion – approximately 2.8 million people. This makes Greece one of the poor performers in the European Union. The rate is alarmingly high and reflects ongoing economic challenges in the country.
