Greece plans to block social media for under-15s
The Greek government announced on Wednesday a comprehensive ban on social media access for minors under 15 years of age. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis described the measure as a "digital break" to reduce negative psychological effects of excessive screen time, such as anxiety disorders, sleep deprivation, and the strain of constant online comparison. The ban addresses broader societal concerns associated with social media use by minors.
