Greece Struggles with High Poverty Risk in the EU
According to Eurostat data, in 2025 more than a quarter of the Greek population (27.5 percent or approximately 2.8 million people) lived in households threatened by poverty or social exclusion. Greece thus ranks among the countries with the highest poverty risks in the European Union.
