Greece's inflation accelerates significantly
Inflation in Greece surged sharply in April 2026 and now stands between 4.9% and 5% according to Greek statistics agency ELSTAT, compared with 3.9% in March. The increase is driven by shocks in the energy sector, which intensifies concerns about sustained price increases. Greek inflation thus exceeds the average level of the eurozone.
