Greek Nisyros Geopark Admitted to UNESCO Network
The Nisyros Geopark in Greece was officially admitted to the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network on April 27. The geopark covers an area of 481 square kilometers and consists of the island of Nisyros itself, several smaller islands, and the surrounding sea area, which is characterized by volcanic features.
