Greek yew shows potential for cancer drug development
A study by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki examines the genetic diversity and medical significance of the European yew (Taxus baccata), a rare tree from the Greek mountains with great potential for the development of cancer medications. The research, led by Professor Filippos Aravanopoulos of the Laboratory of Forest Genetics, identified important genetic properties of the tree.
