Grenade Defect in ELDYK Soldier: Lawsuit Against Greece
A former Greek soldier serving with ELDYK in Cyprus was severely injured by a defective grenade and lost a hand in the accident. Legal representatives report that two of the 73 grenades distributed to the unit were withdrawn after cracks appeared. The now 25-year-old soldier is suing the Greek state for financial compensation.
