Haemophilus influenzae cases in Cyprus surge sharply
Cyprus recorded a significant increase in invasive Haemophilus influenzae cases in 2024, reaching 11 confirmed cases compared to only two in the previous year. This represents the highest level in the EU since the start of EU-wide surveillance in 1996, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
