Harvard Pays $53 Million Settlement in Cadaver Desecration Scandal
Harvard University has agreed to pay $53 million to settle lawsuits from families who claimed the university improperly handled the bodies of their relatives. These had been donated to the medical school, but body parts were sold on the black market by the former head of the university morgue. A Boston court provisionally approved the settlement.
