Heavy rain and hail cleanse Cyprus of Sahara dust
Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and hail moved across several parts of Cyprus on Saturday, particularly over Nicosia. The sudden precipitation will help improve air quality by washing away the thick layer of dust that had covered the island and will significantly reduce air pollution by evening.
