Heavy August rainfall led to flooding on streets in Nicosia and Larnaca on Monday midday. The fire department responded to multiple emergency calls, particularly in the neighborhoods of Ayios Dhometios, Engomi, Lakatamia, Makedonitissa, and Strovolos, where basements were flooded, sewage systems clogged, and people were trapped on flooded streets. Police warned drivers of traffic hazards.
