Herders and government reach compromise in animal disease dispute
Herders and the Ministry of Agriculture have agreed to a preliminary ceasefire and are suspending their planned protest action in Rizoelia. After a compensation package of 35.6 million euros was approved, the controversial question of animal culling remains unresolved. The government considers these measures non-negotiable, while the minister must meet a deadline requested by the president and the EU has been involved.
