Hermit monks on Mount Athos: Living in dangerous rock crevices
In the most remote region of Mount Athos, ascetic monks of the 'Karoulia' live like hermits and must climb dangerous high rocks to reach each other. The isolated area is located on the third peninsula of Chalkidiki in northern Greece. The monks often risk their lives in the process.
