Highway project controversy burdens three communities in West Nicosia
A road construction project is causing tensions between the three major communities Akaki, Peristerona and Astromeritis in West Nicosia as well as the mountain communities. The problem concerns the completion of the highway from Akaki to Astromeritis, which is to be connected with the section to Evrychou. Delays in this infrastructure project are leading to unnecessary conflicts between the affected communities.
