Historic Sister City Partnership Between Trikala and Tucson in 1949
The city of Trikala in Greece and Tucson in Arizona entered into a partnership in 1949, making them the first officially twinned city pair between Greece and the United States. This transatlantic solidarity bridge was established at a time when Greece was still recovering from the devastation of World War II.
