A Polish researcher has uncovered through analysis of ancient Latin and Greek sources that the historical perception of Roman governor Pontius Pilatus has been based on a faulty statement from a Roman historian for nearly 2000 years. The study shows that Pilatus' actual role in Judaea has been fundamentally misunderstood, which has significant implications for our understanding of this historical period.
