Hitler's Birthhouse to Be Converted into Police Station
Adolf Hitler's birthhouse in Braunau on the Austrian-German border is being officially converted into a police station. The Austrian government hopes that this repurposing will prevent the historically burdened site from becoming a pilgrimage destination for neo-Nazis. The project is the result of years of debate over the use of the large, traditional row house.
