Holy Fire lit in Jerusalem and brought to Cyprus
The Holy Fire was traditionally lit in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Saturday before the Orthodox Easter celebration. The sacred flame is subsequently transported under security measures to Greece, Cyprus, and other predominantly Orthodox Christian countries. The ceremony continues a centuries-old tradition and spreads the Christian message of resurrection.
