IATA warns: Hidden lithium batteries cause 80% of incidents
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) warns that approximately 80 percent of dangerous goods incidents reported in the first half of 2025 involve undeclared or hidden lithium batteries. The IATA calls for stricter controls throughout the air freight supply chain and emphasises the importance of existing security controls in aviation.
