Illegal Alterations in Refugee Settlements Granted Property Rights
The Cypriot Cabinet has decided that displaced refugees who have made illegal alterations to government settlements and self-built settlements will receive property protection. According to Interior Minister Konstantinos Ioannis, this affects cases in which entitled persons have previously been unable to be entered in the land registry due to urban planning irregularities. However, these properties can only be sold once the irregularities have been remedied.
