Immediate driving license confiscation introduced for intoxication
The Cypriot police received new powers as of Wednesday to immediately confiscate driving licenses in severe cases of intoxication or drug impairment. Officers can issue direct suspension orders during traffic stops if a driver is under the influence of drugs, intoxicated, or refuses to take a test. This measure is intended to increase road safety.
