IMO chief warns against attacks on merchant vessels as pretext for war
The Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization has called on governments not to use geopolitical conflicts as a pretext for attacks on merchant vessels. Following 80 documented attacks in the Strait of Hormuz that have killed at least 22 sailors, warnings are being issued against exploiting war situations for maritime attacks.
