IMO develops security mechanism for Strait of Hormuz
Following a temporary ceasefire in the Middle East conflict and an agreement on safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, conditions are improving for hundreds of seafarers stranded in the region. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Transport Workers' Federation are now working on a security mechanism for civilian ships. IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez welcomed the ceasefire.
