Independent Investigator to Review Police Complaints
Cyprus' independent police complaints authority decided in an emergency meeting on Maundy Thursday to request the Attorney General's permission to appoint a criminal investigator. This investigator is to examine a complaint by citizen Ioanna Fotiou (also known as Annie Alexui) against seven police officers. The request followed the forwarding of the electronic complaint by Justice Minister Costas Fytiris.
