Indonesia: Couple publicly whipped for extramarital relationship
A man and a woman were sentenced by an Islamic court in the conservative province of Aceh in western Indonesia to 100 lashes each on the back with a cane, and this punishment was carried out publicly in a park in the provincial capital. The conviction was for extramarital sexual relations.
