International efforts to resolve Strait of Hormuz crisis
Britain is leading international talks with approximately 35 countries on opening the Strait of Hormuz, after US President Trump assigned the matter lower priority. British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper is hosting a virtual meeting, while at the same time Gulf states are considering building new oil pipelines to reduce their export dependence on this critical waterway.
