International mobilization due to hantavirus outbreak
A hantavirus outbreak linked to the cruise ship MV Hondius has triggered a major international epidemiological investigation and contact tracing. The Andes hantavirus is of particular concern as it is the only known strain with human-to-human transmission capability and has already been tracked in at least 12 countries worldwide.
