Ireland assumes EU Council Presidency following successful Cypriot term
Cyprus will hand over the EU Council Presidency to Ireland on July 1st after completing its successful six-month term. This is Ireland's eighth presidency of the European Union. The rotating presidencies enable smaller EU member states such as Cyprus and Ireland to play a central role in shaping European policy.
