Konstantia Sotiriou Elected New President of Writers' Association
Writer Konstantia Sotiriou was elected the new president of the Union of Writers of Cyprus following elections on June 27. The new board of directors sets priorities on writers' rights, promotion of reading, and international presentation of Cypriot literature. Outgoing President Lefteri Ploutarchou expressed criticism of the election process.
