Large gap in energy efficiency between rich and poor in Cyprus
Cyprus recorded one of the largest inequalities in the EU according to 2025 Eurostat data regarding the modernization of residential energy efficiency between wealthy and socially disadvantaged households. While 30.3 percent of Cypriots not affected by poverty or social exclusion live in energy-efficient homes, the rate among vulnerable households is significantly lower.
