Law Against Illegal Wells - Legalization and Fines
A draft law from the Water Authority aims to retroactively legalize illegal groundwater wells that have been operating without operating permits for years. The initiative is being discussed in the parliamentary agriculture committee and provides for fines of up to 3,000 euros. Although there have been grace periods since 2010, no mechanism for official licensing has been created.
