Lead Contamination Detected in Cyprus Wetlands
A study as part of the European LIFE IP Pandoteira project has identified a serious problem: the presence of lead in two important Natura 2000 wetlands in Cyprus – the Larnaca salt pans and Lake Paralamni. The investigation documents various environmental pressures, including hunting, that threaten the sensitive ecosystems of these habitats.
