Legal Tools for Evacuating Dilapidated Buildings Insufficient
Yiannis Tsouloftas, chairman of the Limassol Homeowners Association, criticized the time-consuming and ineffective legal instruments for evacuating dangerous buildings. Following a balcony collapse of an apartment building on Thursday, the house was evacuated. In Limassol, there are an estimated 1,100 potentially dangerous buildings, of which approximately 60 should be evacuated.
