Legendary Mountaineer Nirmal Purja Dies in Avalanche at Broad Peak
Renowned climber Nirmal Purja, who set a world record in 2019 by summiting all 14 eight-thousanders in just under seven months, died in an avalanche at Broad Peak in Pakistan. According to his company, none of the nine other expedition members survived the disaster.
