Limassol: Building Collapse Reveals Gaps in Construction Regulations
Following the collapse of a two-story residential building in Limassol, deficiencies in legislation have become apparent. A draft law regarding the responsibility of building authorities for common property buildings and administrative committees has not been advanced. The parliamentary internal affairs committee has decided to refer the legislative proposal back to the interior ministry, as questions concerning authority jurisdiction remain unresolved.
