Limassol honors Olympic athletes with pier namesakes
The city of Limassol named two piers of the Molos waterfront promenade after Olympic sailor Pavlos Kontides and Paralympic swimmer Karolina Pelendritou. Mayor Yiannis Armeftis praised this decision as a "substantive recognition" of both athletes' sporting achievements. The naming is also intended to honor their ethical example and personal integrity.
