Longest Linear A Inscription Discovered on Minoan Ivory Scepter
Archaeologists discovered an extraordinary artifact in 2024 in the Anetaki area of Knossos in Crete: an ivory scepter with the longest known inscription in Linear A script. The object, studied by Athanasia Kanta, Dimitri Nakassis, Thomas G. Palaima, and Massimo Perna, is of artistic, ceremonial, and scientific significance.
