Major Energy Shift for Great Sea Interconnector: Meridiam as New Investor
French investment firm Meridiam has become the majority shareholder in the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI), which Energy Minister Michalis Damiano described as bringing 'enormous new momentum' to the project. According to Greek Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Chatziakis, this represents a response to critics who had questioned the sustainability of the subsea cable connection project between Greece and Cyprus. The European Investment Bank is currently reviewing a capital contribution.
