Major fire near Pissoúri closes highway
A major fire broke out near Pissoúri on August 16, 2026 around 3 p.m. and forced the closure of the Limassol-Paphos highway in both directions. Traffic was diverted to the Old Limassol-Paphos Road. Multiple fire crews and firefighting aircraft fought against flames that engulfed dry grass and vegetation.
