Major Sea Power Connection Receives French Investment and New Momentum
Greece's Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou called the Great Sea Power Connection (GSI), which is intended to connect the electricity grids of Cyprus, Greece and Israel, a "European matter". Energy Minister Michael Damianos welcomed the entry of French investor group Meridiam as majority shareholder and described this as giving the project "tremendous new momentum", which demonstrates the joint commitment of Cyprus and Greece to the power connection.
