March 2026: Record rainfall fills reservoirs to 33.9% capacity
March 2026 was one of the wettest Marches in recent decades in Cyprus and ranks as the ninth wettest March since records began, with average rainfall of 113.2 mm. Most precipitation fell in the mountainous and western parts of the island. Despite this record amount, experts warn that drought problems could intensify in the long term.
