Massive Lithium Deposits Discovered in Appalachia
Researchers from the US Geological Survey have identified a large lithium deposit in the Appalachian region of eastern USA. The study estimates that the region contains approximately 2.3 million tons of undiscovered lithium, which would be sufficient to meet US demand for 328 years. This could significantly help the United States reduce its dependence on lithium imports as demand for battery materials continues to grow.
