Mazotos Calls for Conversion to Tourism Zone
The planned desalination plant in Mazotos brings the long-standing question of compensation measures for local communities hosting critical infrastructure back to the agenda. The Interior Ministry signals willingness to support the request from Mazotos municipality to convert the area from an agricultural zone to a tourism zone. This is intended to compensate for the economic development of the affected region.
