Meta pays up to 16.68 billion dollars in child protection settlement
Meta Platforms reached a settlement with 29 US states in a lawsuit over harm to children. The company will pay up to 16.68 billion dollars and committed to significant changes on Facebook and Instagram, as the platforms were primarily designed to addict children, mislead consumers about their safety, and unlawfully collect personal data from children.
